Drivers door handle proximity function not working

Jus bought 2020 gladiator and the drivers door prox handle it button isn’t working. Pass door does. Inspected plug and fuses found no issues. Any other advice. I’ve seen others with Thai issue but no one has a fix. Can you take the handle apart or reset somthing?

I’ve tried removing Handle cleaning connections flipping magnet. Is the handle jus bad. Can I replace it with out getting stuff programmed

Do a window sticker lookup with your VIN to make sure it was a loaded option on your Jeep.

If it was, then you could try a new handle, but I would check the pins on the door plug. You might find a bent pin.

If it was not an option from the factory, then you may need a programmer to reactivate the feature.

You could have a bent pin at the connection used when taking the doors off

Checked the plugs didn’t see anything bent.

He said the passenger side worked, so it was there.

It won't be a fuse, otherwise the right side would not work.
It's got to be with that door, or the connector (if they had doors off - and it's REALLY hard to tell if a pin is pushed back out of place rather than bent so look again with a light and magnifier if needed)
Pins can miss the hole but not be totally bent, or they can be not latched in the shell and be pushed out when the connectors are pushed back together.
Otherwise, you may need to check to see that the settings are actually still there if you are convinced totally that the pins are fine and the handle ends up being fine.

There is a setting for each side, both must be there. VERY unlikely that these changed if this was a factory install, but if you have JSCAN or AlfaOBD or some friend has access, check these settings -

AP1 Left front > smart switch

AP2 right front > smart switch

If, for example, the left setting was missing, the right could work but the left not.
But the odds are in favor of it being a wiring (connector) or handle issue.

One thing you could do is swap door handles - I believe they are symmetrical. If you can swap left to right and right to left and the problem follows the handle - you've found the issue.

Update!! Installed the working pass side in drivers and the other in pass side. Now neither work tried resetting it then reinstalled in correct pos and pass side worked again. Looked at the pins on drivers side found no issues. Any other advice?

They're not the same. Does the door lock and unlock properly with the fob?

Sounds like two issues.
If a working handle was moved, then did not work, but you put it back and it worked again, the handle is ok. That suggests that handle is ok.
Have you flipped the magnets in the caps (I think that's right - there was an issue I seem to recall where there was a small problem with those)

I must have misread. I thought he said he swapped driver/passenger (front/rear) handles on the same side.

Then he'd have a definite issue - nothing to plug into.
I can't say if front and rear are the same - likely not, for sure not with passive/proximity handles, just that LF and RF are the same - been there, done that.
I suspect he's got the old magnet issue (man, I wish I had a memory) or pins out of whack or something. Makes no sense yet.
Many people have done troubleshooting by moving handles straight across, LF to RF and RF to LF and found the problem that way. If it follows the handle, it's the handle, for example.

But then - you're a clever guy and knew that already.

Tonight I took the handle apart and took the magnet out of the cap and tried it every way. No luck. It’s gotta be programming. The vehicle was factory equipped with it but who knows if it ever worked I’m the second owner.

My passenger side has never worked to my knowledge. I almost thought it wasn't supposed to considering my drivers side has and does. Thought it was maybe a security thing not allowing the passenger side to open unless the drivers side is.

Makes me want to research my passenger side now.
