We enjoy a lot of adventures, so need to prep the new 2024 Gladiator for camping and sleeping. We have an Adventure motorhome with 41 inch tires, 4x4, lockers, winch, etc that we use on a lot on adventures, but we also need a rig for the BDR trails that are too narrow or technical for the motorhome.

Since I take my KTM690 on a lot of trips, a roof top tent is not an option. we have had one before on a Smitybilt trailer and used it a lot, but never really liked going up and down the ladder in the middle of the night when nature calls.

since our 4 door Jeep is prepped for sleeping in the back of the jeep, we can replicate this with a bed tent for the Gladiator. unfortunately, the Gladiator needs something to tie the bed together with the rest of the truck…enter the DV8 Chase rack.

has anyone tried using a bed tent like the Napier with a Chase rack installed? It Looks like it will work, but since the setup is expensive, thought I would check if anyone has done this before.

i much prefer the rugged ridge chase rack. looks less gaudy imo. but to each there own. I don't see why a bed tent wouldn't work but i'd recommend a Gazelle pop up for quicker pop up and down times. if you must sleep in the bed tho, I'd recommend a soft topper and then a tent extension for it to make it comfy. most soft toppers work with racks. https://softopper.com/products/softopper-jeep-gladiator/ this with this https://thetoppertent.com/?srsltid=AfmBOooxzkOrbvn5ArKUTX3OPhhv8G-vxSg1oyHD5AfAkCk_ytfA29MQ

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately,, sleeping on the ground in a tent or popup of some type is no longer a possibility for my spousal unit after a bicycle rider was killed by a grizzly in Montana while sleeping in a tent. Heck, I’m not even sure I can get her to sleep in a bed tent, so she might be sleeping in the gladiator after the rear seat delete. :CWL::CWL:

if I were going the ground tent direction, I would go with a Shiftpod. Been in those before and they are awesome!

hauling the motorcycle and e-bikes was a primary factor in switching from my 4 door to a Gladiator, and we tow the jeep behind our Adventure motorhome, so a trailer isn’t an option either.

Too many tows to take them all with us.

I looked at the Rugged Ridge rack…that is one retro rack for sure. Reminds me of what was around in the 70s and 80s.
