Easily removable cross bars with tonneau

Hi all,

I've read a ton of posts on cross rails and tonneau covers but still am unclear and hoping for some help from those in a similar situation. I want to keep a tonneau cover on most times (right now I have mopar soft tri fold and will most likely upgrade the rolling one) but also want crossbars for bikes and other gear when we go camping. I've looked at the voodoo ones and they look good, but how easy are they to take off? I have the trail rail bars so ideally something that can easily go in and out of those BUT still work with a tonneau. Thanks in advance!

In the same boat, check out Billie Bars. I have a rack on order from them and hoping to pick up (I'm local to them in PA) and install soon. They have a post in the vendor section with more details and a website. There is also a youtube video of a guy swapping the voodoo set up for Billie Bars, the difference between the two is not insignificant, in favor of the BBs.

You can go to HomeDepot and buy some 1x1/2” PVC strips in the baseboard isle in six foot lengths. Cut to the length of the bow you want adding 2” each side. Heat with a hair dryer and bend 2” 90s on each side. Clamp to bed rails.

I have a BAK Revolver X4 that has T-slots in the side rails, when I want to add cross bars I use Yakima Skyline towers that slot into the T-slots.
What's nice about the Yakima Skyline towers are they have a quick release system so I can leave the mounts ( Yakima calls them landing pads) in place.

BillieBars. They come with torx security bolts to secure the bars. and come off in about 2 mins with a drill. If you want it to be even simpler the guys will hook you up with some thumb screws on request. Work decently well with soft tonneau.

I just ordered Billie Bars with the molle panels to go over a soft roll up tonneau cover. I’m way too excited about a few pieces of metal. ?

I have the KB voodoo bars and they are extremely easy to take off and put on. I have a basket attached to the bars. I undo 4 quick bolts and it lifts off. I usually recruit a friend to help move the thing, because I am vertically challenged.

Voodoo rails are very easy to take on and off especially with the comfort grip knobs, mine are of and on all the time. That being said I would go billiebars if they had existed when i did my set up since they are solid. You can request the same knobs
