So I just finished installing a fullview rear view mirror with backup cam.

Everything went smoothly, routed the cable neatly along the a pillar and tested the cams everything was working fine.

I'm literally putting zip ties on the cables and tucking the extra in the passenger foot well, walk around to start the jeep and things just go away.

Everything starts flashing like a pinball machine, first telling me the damn truck isn't in park, hasn't moved in a week, then wipers start going up and down, other various crap flashing...
Vehicle is stuck on the run position but won't start or shut off.

I had to pull the positive off the battery while trying to figure this shit out but I cannot imagine what would be causing this.

Any suggestions?

You either -
Poked into a wire,
Knocked a connection loose,
Pinched a wire against metal and grounded.......

But then you haven't said anything about the mirror you installed or the backup cam. These already have a camera facing the rear (it's the law) so, what else did you do?
What's the mirror do better or differently, how does it connect into the truck's systems?
What did you connect your mirror to?
You've left a lot out.

I'm guessing it's one of those rearview mirrors that record behind you and replace the actual mirror with the camera's view. But yeah something went awry during installation it would seem

Brandmotion fullview, power is connected to the constant aux switch and acc... I've had another front dash cam hooked up to these no issues before.
2 individual wires run from the rear view to below the glove box. Rear cam is ran thru the rear drain plug, along the frame to the tail gate handle..

Again everything was working fine, then all the lights started flashing. Disconnect connector or short usually doesn't do that which is why I'm wondering what may be causing this.

How did you connect to the acc? I installed a Brandmotion with no issues. I used a harness from Quadratec (I think) to make the connection.

Ya used the acc and 12v constant from the accessories switch.

Again the cam/mirror was working fine until I moved stuff under the glove box and pass kick panel and tried to start the truck again to test...
Just not sure what cable could possible come loose there that would cause this kind of behavior.

Guess I'll try to put the battery on a tender tomorrow... Haven't driving the truck in a little over a week and maybe playing around with installing the cam got the battery low enough that it freaked out... Still puzzled though

Well mystery solved, battery was just very low to the point it started misbehaving...
Just amazing that shit started to turn on/off out of the blue just because low voltage... You'd figure that by now manufacturers would put some simple safety/reporting in place for these things.

Probably my bad for not driving her more often lately.
