Knock on wood but haven't had any major issues with my 2021 JT Rubicon, until a check engine light started popping up and disappearing intermittently a few months ago.
Checked it with the Tazer and it shows P0128, which apparently means Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature.
Truck drives completely normally, temp gauge is completely normal, coolant level is fine, no overheating or anything along those lines. Code appears and comes back without clearing it pretty randomly, regardless of conditions outside or driving.
There is a lot of information about this code in the JK forums, but I haven't come across much if anything from JL and JT folks about fixing this. I went ahead and bought a new OEM themostat housing (part #04893926AH) as the consensus on other 3.6 Pentastar engines is that it's best to just replace the part and move on.
Anybody have experience with this fault and can confirm that replacing the themostat fixes it, or have any tips or tricks on the repair?
Thanks!
