Honestly, who cares. I have had mine off for 2 years, it is just sitting in my garage. Those covers are worthless anyway.

I think I'll go up to my shop and make one out of plywood and paint it black and use some stick on letters and make it say HEMI on it.
Will it run if there's ethanol in the fuel?

Not to some people.

Make two please! :CWL:
Is oak plywood ok? I have several large scraps.

Not according to one person, not only that but ethanol didn't even exist until 2005. All of those other references are deep fakes, it's a conspiracy.

Those engine covers are just a way for those evil auto makers to milk more money out of the unsuspecting consumers.

With the cost of hardwood plywoods that may be a more expensive engine cover than the factory one ?

Any chance it’s cabinet grade? willing to ship? lol

Don't like plywood, how about 1" thick rough-sawn solid oak? I have a few board feet of that, as well as quite a few boardfeet of solid oak 3/4" lumber of various widths. It might hold up better than plywood - I got to thinking, with a Jeep it would have to be marine grade plywood, or solid oak with a bar top poly, several coats.
Geesh, you guys are picky!

Do you think the buoyancy of the wood would increase my water fording depth?

HAHA, I wish.
The rough-sawn oak I got "free" because I was standing at a steam engine demonstration back in the 1990s where a steam powered saw mill was taking oak logs and cutting them down for lumber. I asked, the guy said - free samples. (and my truck was handy) Damn that stuff is HEAVY. I wish I would have grabbed some of the walnut they were sawing into planks. I really could be rolling in the bucks.

I salvage stuff....... can't stand to throw things away. You'll see me on a future episode of "Hoarders".

On the serious side - thank gawd the plywood was bought when it was about 30 bucks a sheet, I think I bought some of that 20 or so years ago. Man, I'd hate to even buy a scrap piece of that stuff now. Glad i saved it all these years.
I guess I could consider it my retirement savings! HA, wonder if I can start cashing it in at the bank? The last plain plywood I bought for a project was 70 bucks a sheet! That's more than DOUBLE what I had paid for that oak plywood all those years ago. I don't even want to ask what the oak would cost today...... over 100?????

Maybe time to ebay some of the scraps!

Rumor has it the 2023s won't even ship with the engine.
They will ship with the engine AND cover just no battery, pcm, bcm, head unit and so on! You will have to tow it home and then tow it back 120 days later to have them installed or take the discount for the missing components lmao

Gimme a reason that it matters besides hiding the engine?
Already covered in a very long thread about it a few months ago......... it obviously matters to some since most vehicles in recent years have such things.
