Actually, Jeep has always been the vehicle of multiple configurations. It makes sense there would be an array of configurations you could pick to make it yours.

With front bumpers lined up, my TJ (without spare tire and rear bumper) is the same length as the cab of the JT.

That's strange... Seems like having back seats and 2 only doors wouldn't make a shorter Gladiator.

On most other trucks the wheelbase and length stays the same between crew cab and extended cab. Just move the bed/cab interface forward and backward about one foot.

so way back when this was a concept like 2017 or 18 they had 3 versions they were working on and i cannot find those pics anymore. A 2 door, extended cab and 4 door. I will keep looking.

I assume you would lose about 1 foot of leg room in the backseat and gain about 1 foot of truck bed leaving the overall length the same. This is the formula basically every other truck maker uses between their crew and king cab configurations. The draw back would be that all the other truck makers use smaller rear opening doors for back seat access in their king cab configurations but that wouldn't look right on the Gladiator unless you changed the front door design. So you would probably get a true 2 door and nobody would want to sit in the backseat after like age 10.

Personally, I would prefer a standard cab option with no back seat and a small storage compartment behind the front seats. Make the Cab about 2 feet shorter, make the bed 6 ft long, and make the overall truck length about 1 foot shorter.

Humm. I think the Gladiator could have been a tad bit shorter if they got rid of the storage behind the back seats.

Being this long they should have done the back doors properly

Even with the doors fixed there's still space behind the rear door and bed to axe
