I held off posting this for a bit, but here it is. Nothing earth shattering, but I really do like it. Exceed Fab sent me these drip rail light (or anything) mounts in January. As many of you know, I cracked my jeep up in February. I immediately contacted Kelvin there, and offered to send them back, since I had no idea how long it would take to get my jeep fixed. He said no problem. Do it when you can. I installed them a couple weeks ago, with some KC C2 lights. These brackets are really pretty slick. The challenge isnāt the mounts. Itās that youāre mounting something on your hard top or freedom panels. And you (me) might not want to drill holes in the multi layer fiberglass. But I wrapped my head around it. I didnāt drill. I used the same wire mold that I used for my recent Starlink mini enclosure install. That was planned, but I didnāt want to let the cat out of the bag. Kelvin had left Exceed, and I tried to reach out to them to find a new contact. Iām sure thatāll eventually happen, but it hasnāt yet. But Iām in Moab with these installed, and theyāre working out beautifully. So if Iām using them, the review needs to be out there. No road noise, since theyāre behind me and the second row, and theyāre very tucked into the body. Strong, but designed to not put a single scratch on the top. Iād put these on with a painted top without hesitation. Iād even put two pairs and mount a lightweight awning without a rack. Lightweight should be underlined. Iām sure thatās not what their intention was, but theyāre really quite strong. I really like having some ground āsceneā lighting, that isnāt so bright that itās hard to look at. My ditch lights are great, but I donāt like them unless Iām in the jeep.
Ok. Long description. Basically they clamp to the drip rail and conform to the contour of the top. I think my only suggestion would be to add plastic end caps that could go on after install, just to keep dirt out and finish off the look. But itās a minor suggestion.
Overall, Iād buy this product. Yes. I received a pair for me to test. But most of you know I donāt pull punches. If I didnāt like them, Iād say it.
