I held off posting this for a bit, but here it is. Nothing earth shattering, but I really do like it. Exceed Fab sent me these drip rail light (or anything) mounts in January. As many of you know, I cracked my jeep up in February. I immediately contacted Kelvin there, and offered to send them back, since I had no idea how long it would take to get my jeep fixed. He said no problem. Do it when you can. I installed them a couple weeks ago, with some KC C2 lights. These brackets are really pretty slick. The challenge isn’t the mounts. It’s that you’re mounting something on your hard top or freedom panels. And you (me) might not want to drill holes in the multi layer fiberglass. But I wrapped my head around it. I didn’t drill. I used the same wire mold that I used for my recent Starlink mini enclosure install. That was planned, but I didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag. Kelvin had left Exceed, and I tried to reach out to them to find a new contact. I’m sure that’ll eventually happen, but it hasn’t yet. But I’m in Moab with these installed, and they’re working out beautifully. So if I’m using them, the review needs to be out there. No road noise, since they’re behind me and the second row, and they’re very tucked into the body. Strong, but designed to not put a single scratch on the top. I’d put these on with a painted top without hesitation. I’d even put two pairs and mount a lightweight awning without a rack. Lightweight should be underlined. I’m sure that’s not what their intention was, but they’re really quite strong. I really like having some ground ā€œsceneā€ lighting, that isn’t so bright that it’s hard to look at. My ditch lights are great, but I don’t like them unless I’m in the jeep.

Ok. Long description. Basically they clamp to the drip rail and conform to the contour of the top. I think my only suggestion would be to add plastic end caps that could go on after install, just to keep dirt out and finish off the look. But it’s a minor suggestion.

Overall, I’d buy this product. Yes. I received a pair for me to test. But most of you know I don’t pull punches. If I didn’t like them, I’d say it.

Very nice. A 2 pod flood on there and you’d be able to see everything around you just fine. I’ve been in a few instance I wished I had a light there after dark to do a slider pivot on tight trails after dark. Joys of wheeling longer than normal vehicles. Looks like that’d help with camp setup too but I prefer an underglow once all the setup is complete.

I already have side lights on the cowl that are great for wheeling, but so bright for camp stuff when you’re outside. I hadn’t thought about two lights in there. It would work great. Tons of flexibility with 5 threaded holes to choose from. Here are some garage pics with the other lights on either side these. I like that these flood well on their own, without being too bright to look at. I’ve had spotters ask me to turn off the cowl lights because they couldn’t see. These won’t do that. Really great for camping. I’ve loved them on this first trip with them

These lights would come in handy for me, it's a bummer the wiring isn’t bluetooth. I see the reference to wiremold, just looking to see how you ran it.

The Exceed Fab mounts are just that. Mounts for whatever you want to put on them. The idea is to be able to mount things on the hard top without having a rack.

I chose the lights I wanted to use. I have wire mold along the edge of the rear windshield for Starlink, and these lights. I had two choices to get from the wire mold to the lights. Either direct from the windshield corners to the lights, or from the center on top. I’m not sure what I did was the right solution, but it’s working. If you’re above my jeep you can see the wire runs. I heat shrunk the entire run to properly protect it, and keep it as small as I can. I put a connector at the base of the hard top, between the bed and the cab. That connector allows me to remove the hard top without removing the lights. I also put connectors close to each light. A friend mentioned tight trails with branches. Because of that possibility, I can remove the lights without removing wiring, in about 2 minutes. But the reality is, I had a choice, drill two holes and use waterproof wire pass through, or put the wire on top and secure it. I didn’t want to drill. Drilling would look better. I might change my mind someday. I didn’t want my wire runs to detract from the quality of the mounts. You can’t see the wire runs on top u less you actually climb up and look, so I’m actually fine with the compromise, knowing that I didn’t drill, so can change it.

Those lights came with it or what brand are they?
The brackets come just as brackets. My lights are KC Hilites C2 lights. But anything works. I think my flag mount for places requiring flags will go there now as well. Easier to put a 1 foot flag on than a 6 foot whip.

Looks good, thanks for sharing!
Any time. I delayed it because I tried to find a new contact at Exceed after Kelvin left, but haven’t yet had any luck. But I promised them a review, so it’s here.
