Extended warranty deals

One question out of naivety. If you purchase an extended warranty for 8y/125k miles, does that run concurrent with the manufacturers warranty of 3y/36k basic and 5y/100k powertrain? Or can you specify to have it take over after the default warranties expire? Should be cheaper then, right? The extended wouldn't be liable before 3y/5y. Thanks guys.

They run concurrent for everyone, from date of original sale. I'm not sure what they do if you buy a used truck and want to add one.

Granger bases their pricing on $50 over cost. Tom goes $100 over cost. Granger has a very good reputation in the Bronco community so that's the direction i'll be going when my bonus comes in and i'm ready to buy.

True but in Tom's defense I let him know the price difference and he did beat it by $5 bucks or $45 over cost.

Either way both are offering a good price.

Tom does not beat Granger. Tom is 100 over cost, Granger is 50 over cost.

50 bucks is trivial if you have some love for Tom, but Granger is very trustworthy too.

He did for me. I don't think the $50 over cost is correct to be honest by how much Tom beat it by. Significant difference.

What kind of pricing are we talking about here. I paid $2.6k for 10 year, 100k miles from Toyota back in the day. What do numbers look like and why isn't anyone discussing them directly here?

So I just paid $2,171 for Platinum coverage, 10 year, 100k miles, $250 deductible through the dealership. I was also quoted $1,350 for 8 year, 75k miles, $200 deductible. Just for comparison and transparency.
Edit: for completion, the first is through Fidelity Warranty Services, the second is through MOPAR.
