ExtremeTerrain and aftermarket TPMS

I recently bought aftermarket TPMS sensors from ExtremeTerrain. DO NOT BUY THEM. Yes, I bought the correct sensors as per the build date code on my Jeep. (the post 6/21 model). The box explicitly states O.E. Replacement Sensor No Programming Necessary. This is not true and it cost me an additional $200 to have these programmed at my local Jeep dealership. ExtremeTerrain customer service was absolutely useless. They advised they could issue me a refund if I returned the sensors that were already MOUNTED IN THE TIRES. I posted 2 reviews, which I am certain they will not publish...again. So I am going to post here for everyone to see. I especially hope ET sees this, as I will Never, Ever buy anything from them again. They lost a customer for life over the cost of 4 sensors. Quadratec from now on for everything.

Thank you for the suggestion. I only have about 5k miles on my Jeep so i have a lot of purchases in my future.

Most tire shops have TPMS sensers. I got my last set from Discount Tire and they programmed them upon install. The only ones I have seen not needing reprogram are the OEM's(as long as the battery is good!).

TPMS sensors are a wonderful safety tool. They can be tricky to deal with at times, but your local Discount Tire store will help troubleshoot your TPMS issues!

My preference is Discount Tire. I buy the sensors with the wheels and tires. That way, one place is responsible for everything, if there's a problem. I also pay for the Road Hazard warranty.

I have purchased rims, tires, and sensors from online vendors. Without going into a long story I've come to the conclusion that it's less of a hassle to deal with a local businesses. If follow up is needed it's so much easier.

I've heard a lot of stories about bad customer service from XT and Quadratec. I'll just say I received my few orders with no issues -- I guess it comes into play when you need to return something. I haven't had to do that yet. Don't lose faith in those companies completely. I've also ordered from Northridge and JustforJeeps and those two DO have the best customer service.

They are, after about 15 miles or so of continuous driving. I had these sensors on for a few hundred miles and they never synced up. Very frustrating trying to troubleshoot something that’s ‘just supposed to happen’ lol. I wish Jeep had a ’learn’ button, or some way of addressing the TPMS in the settings menu.

Yes Jeep does! Its attached to your Credit Card with a $200 activation fee!!!

Just an FYI.... we all make mistakes. I bought some JL Rubicon rims/tires from a friend. He pulled the TPMS and installed in his new rims/tires. SO I jumped on E-Bay and bought OEM compatible Sensors. Yea, they worked for about a week when 1 went out. Then another. Thats when I went to Discount and had them replace them all and program them.

I bought a set from rockauto for around 25 or 30 dollars and they worked as soon as I pulled out of the tire shop. 20k miles on them and zero issues
