The flutter can't be any worse than it was driving around in my 95 YJ with half doors and soft uppers. I did always like the convenience of being able to take the soft uppers off easily, especially since that YJ didn't have AC for this southern humidity in the summers.
The convenience is great. Loved no doors too, which I may do from time to time. However, with 4 doors it can be a lot. The drive at high speeds is so much better and you don't lose much of the open feeling. In my opinion.

Love the look and the uniqueness of them. I had Bestop halves on my old CJ-7 and factory halves on my 98 TJ. So I may be a little biased.

I had half doors on my 2dr JK Willys. Got them as the free option when I ordered the Jeep. If they offered them as a free option when I got my Gladiator, I would have jumped at the option. Miss having the half doors, but $5k is just too steep for me to justify...

My 98 TJ was white, just like my Mojave, so I'm with you.

It was something I was waiting for and with the Mojave, it is basically the only option, accessory, or add-on I plan on doing. A lot will do lifts, tires, caps, exhaust, max tow, winches, and/or light bars. Me, I'm complete with these!

I'd be very tempted to trade in my 2020 max tow sport for a new Rubicon or Mojave with the half doors if I knew my life expectancy could be measured in a timeframe higher than minutes after my wife found out...

Ha. Believe it or not, but my wife encouraged me to get them. Since my 2014 JKU was worth so much for trade she was like do it. I did not ask twice.

My wife hate it when I will drive around with no doors on and the kids inside. That made them an easy sell for her. I do agree they maintain an open feel when the uppers are off.

Really doesn't look right at the c pillar, could have been a much better transition there
Yeah, leaves a little to be desired. I've seen people black it out. Not a big deal for me, but I may do it down the road.

I didn't want to point it out, but that's my big issue too. I feel like I'm always referencing the TJ and earlier models for design elements, but it was clear in terms of styling they were designed for half doors, and no doors even. You had this very clear body line creased into the side of the hood, that led the eye straight across to meet the top of the half doors which was a seamless path all around the top of the tub. On newer Jeeps it seems clear that they were designed for a set of 4 full doors cause that's what the market dictates. It just looks like half doors were a secondary consideration. Because I'm sure they were.

I'm not knocking it, I think it's cool. I just think it's the opposite of the earlier Jeeps that looked better with half doors. And sure $5k is a hard ask if the style isn't for you, but really you're getting a lot of oem painted sheet metal for that price, I don't think it's a bad deal at all. And the uniqueness is worth it. Those doors are going to be a sought after commodity in 25 years.

Agreed and well said. The body lines on the Gladiator for sure are ot optimal for half doors. The nostalgia and convenience I'm loving though. Doors off on my JKU was a lot of planning for me. Weather considerations, where I was going and for how long, and storing my doors safely, then putting back on sometimes in a rush. Those days are over now. And, I can go doorless and they are lighter too! Probably a luxury, but one I've worked hard to get back to my TJ roots.

I do love my half doors. I just put mine on last weekend. Wind noise and flutter definitely at 65 plus.

Can I ask how did you get gator half doors as they were not available in 2020? I have a Gator Mojave and really want the half doors.

If you want gator half doors you have to have them painted....thats why I wrapped them in black.
