Congratulations! I hope you enjoy it. I retired at 61. I was going to wait until 65, but, upper management started making stupid (to me) decisions. Moving skilled people to unskilled jobs so they could have “fresh faces and perspectives”. You can’t replace someone with 20years experience with someone off the street, and expect things to go smoothly. I’m talking things like PDR, (what I did), troubleshooting, repair, etc. Anyway, I have been catching up on all the things I put off until “my next day off” for the last several years. Been keeping myself busy, but really enjoying it.

Lawn chair was out there first night.

Instead of a Garand I use a Standard 12 gauge double barrel pump action that holds 16 rounds of 00 buckshot......

When I retired. My last day was May 1st. Because I retired on the first day of the month. The company had to carry my health insurance until the end of the month.

2 years and few months myself. Something I've noticed is my blood pressure is way down and I can tell someone to F### off. Living on substantial less but not having to drive over a hour to and from work. Not having to worry about the clowns I worked with.

When my daughter was growing up in the 80's. She wanted a pink 9mm UZI. I got her a pink framed 9mm Taurus for her 21st birthday.

Unfortunately I was hanging around with some of the NFA owners in early 90s when I was stationed in KY. and didn't jump on in. I was "doing long range" and had access to multiple F.A. so I really didn't think much about it. I do miss the Knob Creek shoots. It's crazy to think that in 1980-86 you could spend $19.99 + $200.°° for a stamp and it would be worth $36000.°° now. I could have bought a few then for $1200.°° plus stamps.
