So Saturday I made two hour and a half round trips out to Matthews to pick up some rims for my BMW. The reason for two trips are because they wouldn't fit on my BMW so the guy said bring them back. Well anyway, I figured I'd drive it faster than I normally do and averaged around 85-90 mph there and back, like 45 minutes one way on I-85 and I4-85 in North Carolina. The jeep did great but at these speed the MPGs will drop for sure. Note the mileage because once I started driving it back in the 65-78 mph zone I was able to get it back to 17 by this morning on my way to work.

I have not had the nerve to get mine up past 75mph. I am still getting used to driving it after driving a low slung Mercedes Convertible that felt like it was on railroad tracks even at well over 100mph.

I am finally getting to the point where I don't feel like I am sitting on a lifeguard chair. 😀

When I drive out west to New Mexico I dread the speed limit change to 75+ because my fuel economy tanks. I usually keep it at 70-75mph and try to stay out of the way of faster traffic doing 85-90mph.

After the Tazer adjustment for my 35s I'm running right under 18mpg in combined city/highway. When I try to keep up above 75mph it drops to 15-16mpg.

For reference for those that don't already know I'm on 37 12.5 17 Goodyear MTR tires, stock 17x7.5 wheels with 1.75 inch wheel spacers, Rubicon take off front springs and 2.5" Readylift SST lift kit. Also added some steel front and rear bumpers and a winch. Looks like this currently

I feel ya, we have owned BMWs for the last 12yrs of some sort, the last one a BMW 440i coupe and you could be going 120 in it or better a feel like you had total control. We just sold it and bought a BMW X5 50i with the the M package. Man that thing will move, Twin turbo V8 and it's tough to keep it under 90mph

Great looking JT and congrats on the new Bimmer. Our other vehicle is a Navigator L so the JTM feels pretty sporty in comparison

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that tries to get bad MPG every now and then. I tried to keep the WRX as low as possible one day and was only able to manage 17.

After I do the Premium fuel conversaion the Gladiator will be a bit cheaper to drive per mile at least for gas.
