Did you get to Stony Lonesome when wet or dry? It's about a hour or so from me. Last time I was there it was fairly dry except for mud trails had some nasty mud spots. I did a few trails on 4wheeler, some are definitely not 4wheeler trails now.
Stoney is about 2 hours from me. We've been there a few times when it's been bone dry and pouring rain. It's a great park with some challenging trails. I can't believe gut buster is still a BOH trail since it's impassable without winching up. Most bouncers can't make it up let alone a stock Rubicon which BOH trails are based on. I've heard Jeep is going to remove it from the list but who knows. You hear all kinds of rumors from "experts" lol.

Vacation, what is that?
Last year we scheduled the October AOAA/Rausch and I ended up working instead.
Yeah that blows. I've had to do that in the past too.

I need to check which badge(s) I got there.... but I did on 4wheeler.....šŸ™„ Some of the trails I rode there were rideable a few years back not now really, trail damage isn't a high point for me now. I used the crap out of the winch the last time I was there. On one trail it was just turning around to say f### it I'm not wanting to roll my 4wheeler off again.
You must be fairly close by, in S. TN. I have a buddy who lives in Ardmore AL side. :like:

Be sure to check for Rausch and AOAA being open. Rausch Creek-www.rc4x4.org & AOAA-www.aoaatrails.com
Thanks. Good tip. Kansas is like that. Every time I’ve passed through they’ve been closed. They’re only open on weekends. I wish Jeep wouldn’t make BOH trails that have hours of operation.

I’ve never heard that boh trails are designed for stock rubicons. If that were true half of the trails in Utah would need to be removed from the list. They certainly don’t all need a rubicon base model, but several of them would be impassable in anything stock.

Yeah I agree. Some of them would be extremely difficult for a stock rig. I can't remember where I read that. But if it's on the internet it HAS to be true. 🤣

Rausch Creek, you will only have 4x4's there. AOAA, you will have quads and bikes on some of the same trails. Rausch Creek does have a separate area for bikes and quads.

It was great to wheel with you too! If you get the chance we'll be at Windrock - Aug 16, 17, 18 and Sept 26th-29th.

My big BOH run for this year is Oct 3-6 going to SMORR and Kansas Rocks.
Uwharrie is beautiful and fun trails, nothing too bad at all, you'll have fun.

You should let me know when you plan on PA, I might just have to tag along.
DON'T listen to anyone at SMORR who recommends taking PeeWees Crossing backwards. See how I know :

By going backwards on the trail the tree in front of the drivers side front bumper forces you to get too close to the dropped trees. Immediately in front of the passenger side bumper is a 3 foot drop off into a creek. If I had gone the right way I would have had more than enough room to stay way right and make a hard left to fit under the branches. I'm on a completely stock Mojave suspension and tires.

Ouch!! Man that hurt!! I also got some body damage last weekend while wheeling in the Cumberland Gap area of KY. I didn't even know it until yesterday when I sprayed the mud off from the weekend. Stuff like this is gonna happen some times.

Yep. I have all sorts of scratches and still a dent in my tailgate. Just consider them like my own body---looked great at first but not so much now :crying:

How do you feel the Willys held up in Moab with no lockers? I’ll be headed there next Saturday, open front and LSD rear. 4.5ā€ lift and 37s. I’ll be knocking out the ā€œeasierā€ trails, Fins, Hells, TOTW, and Poison Spider.

I think you'll be absolutely fine. The brake lock differential really works pretty good when it's needed. But for the most part you'll have all 4 wheels on the ground out there. What a great trip, have a great time.

I can’t believe I just looked and rausch creek is only open fri-mon?! That’s so dumb. It’s also a bit silly that they require two vehicles. Don’t get me wrong. I subscribe to don’t wheel alone, but depending on the situation, I’m ultra prepared for solo runs. I guess it’s not in the cards this trip. I can’t still be in PA on Friday. I Ned to be way further west by then. Maybe I’ll hit AOAA on Thursday.
