I have a 2020 Sport-S with the 7 inch screen. Has Uconnect and sat radio and all that. I would really like to have an app to locate my truck somehow. I've tried the jeep app and it has nearly nothing in it but a user guide. I seem to be unable to figure this out without going 3rd party. Is there something I'm missing?

No, nothing you are missing. You will need an aftermarket solution.

Contact your dealer and ask them about it. Many of them have a tracker option they can install under the dash with a three year service subscription.

Google KARR Security and see what you can find.

Look under the dash near the OBD port. You may already have one installed. It would be old enough, though, that it is a 3G model and activation would require replacement with a current model. They will sometimes send someone to your home to do it.

Got a smartphone? Throw an AirTag or Tile in the glovebox .

Like mentioned, going to need aftermarket. I use Bouncie and a OBD2 splitter with the Bouncie dongle tucked under the dash and hidden pretty good. Gives me real time in motion info, vehicle status and last known location on shutdown.

You can get apple air tags and drop it u day the back seat
