I’m glad to see a strong military presence on this forum, makes me feel right at home. Airborne! Good luck to y’all on your submission! Like some of you, I don’t think taking a year off from work is in my cards. As a LEO now, I don’t think I’d have a job when I returned. It’s gotta be marketing, Jeep really can’t believe anyone could take that much time off from work, especially being able to afford this vehicle. To have that money you’ve gotta make it. Plus I didn’t see anything in the disclaimer portion of the rules as to how the money would have to be spent! I think we’re good! :like:

I was Airborne when Airborne wasn't cool. That picture in my avatar was taken right around this time of year in 1994 in Korea. I grew up at a Ranger Battalion and when I got to Korea I was assigned to LRSD, the only airborne unit in Korea, at the time at least. I look at that little turd in the picture and rub my slightly oversized gut and say I am twice the man I was back then.

I uploaded mine 2 weeks ago. It was mostly shots from my drone of me in my JKU driving through snow, mud, rocks, etc (drone has auto pilot, auto track, and auto follow features) and just did a voice over with my inspirational speech. The final product was originally at 4k 60 fps and 74 seconds long but the file came in at 468megs. So I used handbrake and got it at 720p 24 fps and a file size of 8.8 megs. Replayed the video and I didnt notice any compression artifacts.

Gotta love the soft opening under a rotary wing aircraft. The landing still sucked though didn't it? When I got to the LRS Detachment in Korea my first jump was out of a Chinook into a frozen rice paddie with about six inches of frozen stubble that we flopped into.

6 days until the winner is announced...
That is really interesting as they won’t be able to confirm the person actually completed the sale at that point. You would think they would wait til after delivery and pick from a pool of people who completed purchase.

Since when has anything with the LE been a logical process? LOL

I’m hesitant to say I sent in a video for fear of jinxing myself but that being said we spent an entire day out shooting footage on our hd camera and had the best time with kids and grandkids. Wife and daughter spent an entire day editing and found it to be too large of a file. After some googling, we found a free app called handbrake that compressed our video down without compromising the quality. I was able to submit it a day early. It would be great if Jeep shared everyone’s video after announcing the winner. Good luck everyone!!
