Good evening I’m trying to t tap my halogen front driving lights on my 22 Gladiator. There are three wires in the halogen marker white/brown, white/ yellow and black. How do I find out if I’m tapping the right positive 12v wire? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks man, I tried tapping the white/yellow drl for my diode dynamics fog lights but still couldn’t get the backlight to work. Idk thanks for the sending the figure though.

Those wires are directly coming off the BCM. I would be leery of taping and splicing on LED's to a halogen circuit. The load sensing of the BCM that controls it runs the risk of frying the electronic drivers. There is settings via JScan and the like for those drivers to be halogen or LED, not a mix.

I'd never tap into wires - in that sense, anyway.
I was going to comment about the comment he was wiring fog lights - to the marker lights??
Why not use the FOG light wiring........... and like you said - don't mix LED lights with halogens or others.
Don't run fog lights off the DRL. Multiple reasons to not do that. They are fog lights, not driving lights. They are LED - don't wire them with halogens.
Use fog light wiring for fog lights.

He has fog lights and backlights. The fog lights are connected to the fog light harness. The backlights are essentially DRLs or parking lights

I’m not tapping the halogen drls for the fog lights. They are working great off the factory harness (plug and play) however, diode dynamics fog lights have a backlight feature that act as drls but I need a fused 12v wire to use them. Just looking for options for that setup.

Exactly, just looking for a fused 12v wire to use.

I already used fuse F52 for my rough country led headlight drls. Any idea if I could still tap into that wire for the fog light backlight? Or if you know of another source.

what do you want the backlights to do? Be on all the time except when the foglights are on?
If that is the case yes you can use Fuse 52 for both, the backlight draw is minimal.

However that being said tapping the parking lights is the way to go. That way the backlights work as night time driving lights and when you really need extra lights for when its foggy or you are off road then you turn on the bright as F*** DD fog lights.

Yes they are brite as f especially coming from the halogens. Such a difference they look amazing and now I can see where the f I’m going. Crazy how you spend 50k for a rubicon that doesn’t come with leds standard.

Hey there! We are glad to hear you're loving your fog lights!

Unfortunately, it appears as if our installation videos are from prior to our introduction of the backlight functionality. Sorry about that!

Generally, either the sidemarker or parking light is your best bet.

If you are still needing any assistance in tapping for your backlight, please go ahead and give us a call at 314-205-3033 Monday-Friday 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. CST, or shoot us an email at [email protected], and our service team would be happy to help you with some more specific instructions.

Thanks!
-John C.
