Fishbone Offroad rack ($1,000+) failed with cracks at all four corners after less than 2 years with a nature nest tent (about 180lbs). They offered only 50% off a replacement, ignoring safety risks.

I didn't notice these until removing the RTT. I highly suggest any of you using this rack to check for cracks.

I had a Fishbone bumper I took out of the box, saw it was a severe POS, and sent it right back.

I'm hardly a paying more equals better snob, but my whole experience with Extreme Terrain and the crap they sell turned me off every brand they carry.

That's why I went with my ZroadZ rack. O could fathom the quality of a rack that cheap.

It appears I dodged a bullet

I’ve had one on for about a year and it’s held up fine. The most weight I’ve had on it is our 170# RTT.

I see corrosion at the angle and it looks to me like flexing may have caused the powder coat to fail leaving an opening for corrosion cracking. I’ve seen a few spots of rust on mine after the winter so I suppose some remediation is in order.

Sorry to see it! One of the many reasons we use stainless steel on our racks now. Agreed with others that is looks like a combination of corrosion fatigue, material choice, and maybe intrinsic design is to blame.

Looks like to me they ground the welds damn near off. Never grind your welds.
