Joined up with a buddy driving a JLUR and got the trails in my Gladiator. Even brought two of my kids along as camera crew, lol. I’ve been to Flagpole several times with my old JK’s, so I was pet familiar with the area. The exciting parts we’re doing it with a longer wheelbase, taking my kids, and coaching an inexperienced Jeeper (my buddy).
Overall the trip was a blast. Only downside was me getting a flat halfway into the trail. There was a wide turn under a fallen tree, and I didn’t see the edge of a crushed culvert until in was too late. It caught the inside sidewall of my passenger front tire and made a loud “whooosh” s the air rapidly left my tire.
The rest was much more positive. I learned more about how the Gladiator handles rocks stock, learned that my new Rock Hard sliders are in fact “rock hard,” lol, and learned I need to use 4-low when I’m trying to control my speed going up or down steep obstacles. My buddy also had a blast. He’s learning how to pick lines and take his approaches slowly.
Enjoy the pics and my first attempt at an edited video!
