I posted this and reply to another thread, but then I realized it was for the JL for him via the JT form… Didn’t know that was a thing.

Anyway, I took the doors off my gladiator yesterday. Apparently a slightly bent one of the prongs on the doors and got the notice that my blind spot warning was temporarily turned off. I fix the prong and now that’s taken care of, but then I noticed something else.

When I start up my gladiator, I noticed a symbol that says FCW off with a little icon. It goes away after the Willys jeep drives across the screen and the initial start up screens finish.

I never turned my forward collision warning off, and I settings and the forward collision warning system appears to be turned on…

Is this anything to worry about? I don’t think my taking the doors off has anything to do with this, but I just happened to notice this after troubleshooting the kind spot warning issue. Also, I’ve watched a YouTube video on a Sahara starting up, I didn’t notice that FCW warning on there...

Any thoughts or advice is welcomed.

You really should read through your manual, it covers this. Not trying to give you shit, but we have such complex vehicles with so many details. I'm currently reading it for a second time. Anway, that's the normal startup sequence.

As far as I know, you only get this feature if you have AAC. Maybe the Sahara didn't have it. I'm not totally sure, as I was only shopping for a fully loaded model and didn't look at the others in detail.

Thanks for the reply. I must have missed that. I actually pulled out my manual and went through it, albeit with a young child asking me questions while trying to find the answer. I need to just go through that thing as nightly reading... you're right about these things being complicated vehicles.

Have a great one!
