It looks like another video with a subject meant to get views by capitalizing on peoples fear of big brother.
i carry a cell phone with me almost everywhere i go that has built in GPS works even with no cell signal. I constantly look up things related to me and my interests on the internet, get email correspondence business and private, order things online for projects and use credit cards to pay. There are half a dozen cameras i know of linked to the internet on my block, highways and freeways have had cameras watching them for 40 years some with license plate readers. Just about every time i take a trip i drive through an area with banks of cameras, Xray cameras and radiation scanners that record and if i fly i walk through the same things. Not much reason to worry about something that could potentially track my car and pass data about it to the manufacturer.

The fears related here are actually justified. Oh hey did you go 70 miles an hour in that 65 Zone? Rates increased. Opt out.

Did you hit your breaks too hard? You must have been following too closely. Insurance increase.

Opt out.

So has anyone created a tutorial specific to our Gladiator?

Actually it looks like post 18 has a short and sweet video on how to do it.
When I gat my Jeep back later this week I’ll give it a try.
Makes me wonder if this is why my insurance jumped $50 this month with zero changes. I have the State Farm app's monitoring off and never "agree" on the startup screen but...

Please let us all know if you lose any additional functionality. I can live without remote start/unlock from the phone and SOS but I really like XM. I know my phone is tracking everything but i didn't buy a Jeep to be tracked by a third party, I bought a Jeep to be able to GTF off the grid and return when I want to.

Perhaps Z Automotive can figure out a Tazer mod to disable the software side so we don't have to worry about it losing other functions...

Actually, it’s on 10 and 18 but that’s neither here nor there. The only thing I’ve lost is the compass on my dash.

If my insurance company was paying to get reports from Jeep or my other vehicles manufacturers were selling owner specific data to them and they were raising rates for five MPH over it would have probably been too late on the drive home from buying them.
I have seen scanned vehicle data after major accidents back up the driver and have seen it go the other way as well. Nothing for me to worry about if someone has fear, privacy concern or whatever remove or disable the telemetric stuff if it makes someone feel better that is great.

I do trackdays with my 2011 Nismo. It see's speeds well over 140 mph during a trackday, depending on which track. Now if someone with a newer car was doing trackday days. Wonder how that would effect the data.

@Rusty PW

BMW from the e46 M3 forward can download your ecu to make sure you’re letting the M car break in properly before you flog the hell out of them.

In theory if you do too many Gs, high revs, etc they’ll punch your warranty card. They don’t want someone buying an M4 CS and taking it right to the local track.

Crazy to think the Germans could be monitoring your every move like some sort of secret police...
