Mine covers up to $1000 in extras with no extra cost. Beyond that, It's as easy as listing mods on their app, and getting an instant quote. My only mods are a spacer lift and tires, though, so I'm under $1000 still, because the difference in price between my stock 33s and my now 35s isn't but a couple hundred.

My insurance company will only go to an extra $4000 of mods. They want $60 a month for that. Not a good deal. If you count labor, removable items like a tent, overlanding stuff, etc I have at least $50k extra sitting there. Some of that can probably go on my homeowner's policy. I think I will shop around a bit to see what companies can do better with coverage. Already paying about $1200 a month in car insurance!
Wow. Stuff that's not attached or part of the truck is covered under our homeowner policy. If we are hauling something in the truck, it's covered.

We insure my JT, my wife's WK, my 73 Javelin and my 82 SX4 for about 1600/year. Even when I had the WJ or the other Javelin, we were under 1800/year.

My cost probably has a lot to do with my drivers. Insuring five cars. My wife has a new BMW, 20 year old son in a VW Passat, 18 year old son in a Challenger R/T, 17 year old son in a JKU, and me in the Gladiator. And a teardrop trailer as well.

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone has supplemental insurance to cover the money they've put into their Jeep in modifications? I was going over my JT today and realized I have about $6k in mods, by the time im done with it, it'll be closer to $20k. I know my regular collision and liability policy isnt going to cover that in the event something happens to my JT. I was wondering if there are companies out there that will insure the value of my modifications? If any one has any advice in that regard I'm all ears.
Thanks!
Depending on cost, I’d say it’s worth it

Mine, American family, insures mine up to 75k, which is 19k over sticker. I provided a spreadsheet showing all parts, costs, and date purchased. In the event of a claim they just want receipts. It costs me a few hundred more per year. And they’ll cover a loss due to off road use.

My agent said keep a list, keep receipts, send him a copy of the list of things I've added.
Keeping receipts is easy - just have a folder handy and when you buy something, stick the papers in the folder.
I keep a document with the list and any time I update it, I forward my agent a copy.
No need to go to a special company - your insurance will either cover it, cover up to xx worth of extras, or will charge a bit extra for anything above xx amount
i have an email address for my JT. it's [my_VIN]@gmail.com. I forward receipts for accessories from my primary email address to my truck's email address. i also forward receipts for purchased oil and filters and the like, and email myself details on maintenance performed (in addition to logging it on mopar.com). Only company I gave that email address to is Jeep (unfortunately they gave it to SiriusXM as well, who called me about a week after purchase to say I needed to provide them a "legitimate" email address for my XM Guardian trial, not the "fake" one they have on file).

By the time I'm done with this vehicle I expect private party sale will be worth a lot more than trade, so at that time I can flip the email address over to the new owner and they'll have everything all in one place.

I put an extra $2K of insurance to cover some of the aftermarket stuff on my JTM. The annual premium is $60/year extra. Worth it to me.
