For those of you that run a mesh screen like spiderweb shade under your hard top, I have a great tip. I put a beach towel between the freedom top and the shade. It’s noticeably quieter and cooler. I can’t even see the towel.

I don’t have a sound meter but I am confident it’s much quieter. Cuts a lot of the wind noise down.

Anyone else try this?

I might try that when I put my spiderwebshade, and Softtop, back on. I never notice the extra noise of Softtop vs hardtop, but when I make phone hands free phone calls, others do. Thanks for your tip.

Oddly enough, I thought my sunshade did way more for noise control on it's own than I would have ever expected.

I prefer how it looks with the hardtop, blocking the white. Took it off cause it hindered using my Sunrider for hardtop.

It does, but adding the towel does even more.

Let me know if anyone else try’s this and what you think.
I also had a small noise coming from the interior I picked up on after my little mod. i reinstalled all the door hinge bolts. No more rattle.

Drove my wife’s JL yesterday and couldn’t believe how noisy it was. Stuffed a few towels over the spiderweb shade fron and back.
