No ratchet strap needed in front, actually. As long as there's weight on the axle (either on the tires, or axle on stands) you can turn just the steering wheel a little left or right. The axle stays put, and the steering moves the body left or right. Just jiggle with it until the track bar bolt lines up.

(assuming the truck is level - if you're on a sideslope, this could get messy)

And as above, once you get the axle even left/right at ride height, you'll need to adjust the steering drag link length to match. DIY job

Agreed. However, you don't even need to do the steering wheel bit. With the vehicle sitting on the ground, disconnect the track bar. Grab onto the bumper (I used my bull bar) and shake it side to side like a shark biting a seal. The vehicle will settle into it's natural spot and then you adjust the trackbar to fit.

This method by far seems to be the easiest way, il give this a go first lol
It's a trick an old mechanic taught me years ago and I've done it with every lift since....

You'll prolly still have to adjust your steering with the draglink though. Easiest way to do that is to mark TDC (top dead center) of your steering wheel and then adjust the draglink until it moves to the top. You can then verify it with the steering angle graphic on the dash.

You can also use JSCAN to determine steering wheel angular position while you are under the truck.

Heck, I can have the steering wheel turned several degrees and the dash display will still says 0 degrees.

I'd never use that - you'll be off.
Fair enough. It's direction-ally correct and precisely wrong.

In fairness though, I did recommend bisecting the top of the steering wheel, marking it and then adjusting the draglink until the bisected mark on the steering wheel reaches TDC. I then said you could verify it using the graphic....so the graphic was not meant to be the primary means of determining the steering angle.

I apologize if anyone thought that I meant that using the steering angle graphic was the litmus for determining the how straight the steering was aligned.

Blue tape with a mark in the middle of the tape. Easy enough to look without getting in.
Otherwise it's a pain in the butt - in and out, under, up, check, back under.
Yes, do whatever needed. Mark the wheel with tape, whatever.

You may be thinking this way -
i drove mine, with a roll of blue tape in the seat next to me.
Found a flat highway, marked the wheel position when the truck was going totally straight.
Then I went back home, put the wheel with THAT mark at the top so I knew the wheels were straight.
You can put another tape where the wheel itself is straight or level and watch for it to come to the top as you work.
Lots of ways - none are wrong. Whatever is easiest for the person doing the work, as long as the results are the same.

thanks! Would you happen to know if I can do this with tires on so I can see when its centered? I would jack the Jeep up, remove track bar and extend
I was able to. Just measure the difference and adjust accordingly. You'll have to steer it to one side or the other to get it to fit. I can't remember which way, but it will be obvious. At least that's the way I did it.

Where’s this graphic located? I can’t remember seeing that. All I can think of is the front camera view.

Where’s this graphic located? I can’t remember seeing that. All I can think of is the front camera view.
Use the up/down steering wheel buttons, then left/right to get to it

From this you can see why it's not accurate - it calculates the average front wheel angle based on steering wheel angle so it's really showing wheels, not steering wheel, and won't be accurate for the steering wheel.
