If you install a front locker on a sport, will it have adverse effects on how the front operates when it’s put in 4wheel drive?
In other words, could the computer freak out in 4wheel drive with the locker engaged or not engaged while using 4wheel?
I would assume that there would be no issues if the locker was not engaged in 4wheel. The computer doesn’t care.
But, if you have the locker engaged, will the computer still try using the brakes to control wheel spin? I think there’s a very slight amount of play between the left and right wheels even with the locker engaged. Is it enough to confuse things?

I put Rubicon axles/lockers on my 80’th anniversary edition and have had zero issues. I have the lockers wired through Lasfit auxiliary locker switch set. I don’t believe the braking system would sense any wheel slip when the lockers are engaged. With the locker engaged both wheels will be turning at the same speed. My understanding is the brake system reacts when one wheel is spinning and other is not. Hope someone that actually understands how the braking system works will respond.

E-Lockers are open differentials until you engage them so no difference in daily driving or when you throw it in 4wd unless you also turn on the locker.. Auto-locking like a Detroit locker will be a little funky under throttle with 4wd engaged.

I put e-lockers in my overland. A lot of times I only use the front locker and I haven't noticed any difference in the operation at all. With the computer or anything else.
