So, I have been looking to replace the OEM bumpers on my Rubi.
Front is the dull plastic and then the standard rear.

I was leaning very strongly to JCR because I love their rear bumper with ability to have swing away tire carrier. But the major reason is their built-in receiver behind the license plate. Gets that anchor up and out of the way. Then was going to get a matching full width for the front.

BUT, I kept going back to the Rock Hard front bumper with a built in receiver and recessed winch. Their rear bumper also has a receiver, but it is low like OEM.

So I finally decided, they don't have to match, they don't have to be from same manufacturer. They're on opposite ends of the truck and both will do their job.

There’s nothing wrong with mix and match. I prefer all my steel to come bare as I prefer to powdercoat/bedliner to preference. I also look at the welds from manufacturer before purchase as I’m very picky.

I'm considering an upgrade to my front bumper to the steel Rubicon (or ebay "Rubicon"). What's the difference in weight? Would it affect the height of my front end?

Pretty much any steel bumper is going to cause more sag in the springs.

If you're like me and have the front plastic bumper then ANY aftermarket bumper is going to be a bunch of weight. I haven't paid much attention to weights. Going with what I want for bumpers. Then I'll decide which lift I want to throw on to counteract the weight.

The Rock Hard front bumper is 140 lbs.

If I do the bumper I'll probably add a front coil spacer.

That JCR bumper and sliders is pretty sweet, I have no need for the tire carrier but the hidden hitch behind plate is real nice, weight is 115 lbs. ,perhaps my favorite bumper also!......Jack

Kenman65, My Rockhard front bumper was not that heavy. Maybe the winch and the bumper are 140 pounds. Whatever they weigh, my front only went down 1/4" with the bumper and winch.

Rockhard has a good video of the installation process of their bumper. I laughed watching it because the installer in the movie lifts the bumper in place easy peasy. It must have been the aluminum version. Anyway, I had my wife film me lifting the bumper in place.

Note that the bumper does not require support after it is lifted onto the frame rails.
