I figured I would break this topic out as a new thread since the original post where this was talked about went a different direction. Thanks to @Wat Dog for posting this https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...ade-maybe-possible.105240/page-2#post-1697924

I followed his lead and did the iron rock relocate bracket as well. But kept the assembly stock as the bracket gave me the clearance I needed.

I bent and cut some flat strap to support the fuel filter like OEM had and bent up a skid plat to protect the filter. I reused the original bolts and holes the oem housing used and then drilled some holes in the adjacent skid plate and installed some m6 rivnuts. I don't have expectation that i can park the skid on a rock nothing will happen, just trying to find some middle ground where I can protect it some.

That's pretty impressive. What is the thickness of the metal used for the skid? And guessing you have tooling available to break/bend it?

I've just got a ASFIR skid over mine and I know it's not super tough, I might need to do this just as an extra bit of room. Although I leave for the Rubicon in a few days. IRO is just up the road from me, maybe I can give them a call and stop in to pick it up

it's a pretty quick job, it is even quicker if you have a 90 degree drill, or short drill, then you don't have to drop the skid plate to drill the hole for the bracket. I ending up using a fat washer about the same thickness as the adjacent OEM rivnut to make the bracket more parallel with the frame.

word of advice don't over tighten the rivnut using the tool they give. It will deform and strip, ask me how i know.... a little goes a long way here.

I did share this post with them, maybe they will offer a relocate bracket and skid combo. You can probable get away with not doing that fuel line bracket like i did but i was being fussy.

Well guess I could cut halfway thru bend then weld. But I do like what you did so I’m going to add this to the list of things to do.
