While driving with a full tank of gas my range to empty went from 300+ to 162. The mpg stayed the same. I reset the mpg and it went up to 22+ as well at the range around 185. After turning off for 30 min, I restarted and was back to 15.4 mpg and 162 range. After driving the numbers go up and again after restarting they drop right back. No lights, running and driving like normal. Has anyone else experienced this?

As I’ve come to learn since having my JT, the distance to empty is completely inaccurate. For example, I have a an angled driveway. Depending on if I back in, or pull in, when I turn the truck off and turn it back on, I’ll get two different DTE readings. Once I start driving the DTE will either increase (back-in parked) or decrease (pull-in parked).

When I come into baseball practice I have to go up a long decent sized hill in SF, then quickly down the other side. On the way back out it's back up the hill. If my truck says 80 miles left on the highway it's not uncommon for it to say 25 leaving practice because of the very recent hills logged in the avg consumption. Back on the highway on the way home it always goes way back up.

It's constantly "doing the math", and factoring in all of the variations that it's encountering.

I have had the range go up and down yes. I just have never had it "default" back a constant number that is close to half of actual range. That is after sitting flat for 30 minutes off. Fuel gauge does not change. I know it is a guesstimate but the up until now its been consistent and now it just makes zero sense. Its like its stuck thinking its about half the fuel level it is showing.

The best way to describe it is no memory of previous data upon power cycle.

I only check mine when I fill the tank. Just sitting idle, when I reset the trip meter, it rapidly drops to about half of the last shown MPG. I know that I can get 350 to 400 miles on a full tank. Unless I'm on a road trip, I just stop at Sam's Club and fill the tank when it gets down to half full. Being concerned about mileage, while driving an aerodynamic brick, can drive you crazy.

More concerned about the electronic gremlins these things face than I am the mileage. Just really odd to just randomly change from over 300 to 160ish on a full tank for no reason.

After looking more into what is happening, I found a couple more items. The trip A/B will change upon start ups. I will shut down with trip time of 1:33:16 13.7mpg then the vehicle will be off all day. After work upon restart it will be 1:14:37 12.9mpg. I am starting to think the aux battery is getting ready to call in the avengers. All day I had "Start/stop not ready battery charging" message. Waiting for that dtc to generate.
