That is actually what I was afraid of.... someone in a different post called it "Gobi Green" or "The Gator's Belly" - seem's like that may be true. Was really hoping for a bit darker.

I liked the idea of my JT looking like an Army truck. I was a 63B in the Army and had the opportunity to work on the Jeeps when I first got in.
I think the color is really close to army green so I'm not sure why you would want it to be darker. If it were darker it is going to look more like emerald green in my opinion.
I was on the jeep.com build site last night and noticed the pictures of gator have been updated when you build one. It looks like the new pictures are pretty close to the actual production gator color I have seen.

Is there still confusion about whether the Wayout is Gator? Because I thought it had been firmly established that it is Gator, like it or not.

The good part about it is there are lots of videos of the Wayout concept which gives a better idea of color than still pictures. And it seems to change a lot from almost a tan color to a brownish-olive color depending on lighting.

A little too baby poop for me I think but I would have to see it in person.
Yes gator us based directly from the wayout concept.

They are similar. Personally prefer Tank. It's a little darker. But Sarge pops a little more.

ahhhhhh, OK.

Yea, I think Tank is better too but my wife almost bought that anniversary edition in Sarge a while back. So I know she'll love it.

This is linked to the Jeep.com configurator and is what I'm expecting my Gladiator to look like. Is this the color you see on the configurator?

When I did it last night from a laptop computer the pictures were completely different than the one that shows from a mobile device.

All I would say is if you don't like the wayout color than I would not order a gator gladiator until you can physically see one at a dealer. If not you may be disappointed.

I ran a test from my iOS device and from my computer.

I checked the hex values for the colors from the approximate center of passenger front door on the image from the mobile site and the image from the desktop site.

While the colors values are different--they are barely different and I think it was just a matter of the samples having different shadings by virtue of select a slightly different location on each image. I'm confident the images from the two site renderings were the same.

Here are the two colors:

535048 is from the mobile site image, 55554B is front the desktop site

Haha.. I don't know the science behind hex values but to the eye the desktop version looks lighter to me.
I'm surprise how much people are using all these different methods to figure out the color.
Seems to me that everyone here is playing right into Jeeps marketing scheme on keeping the gator color hush.

Maybe compare this hex data now to the wayout color and see what you get?

Look at this video, view the color in bright desert light from the 1:20 mark (looks brown) and then the 1:50 mark in dimmer light at the campsite (looks green). This is exactly what I expect Gator to be.

Also (posted this on another Gator thread already) Jeep publicly stated here the same Wayout Concept vehicle was Gator green. Go to 1:58 point in this video, "This is the new Gator Green...and its barely green" Production may vary slightly but I'd be very disappointed if I ended up with Tank.

This is directly what I have said in this post several times, and I have confirmed from my very reliable sources that have direct knowledge and work for Jeep, but no one seems to want to hear it and Hope for some reason that it is going to be a darker or different green.
Wish for what you want maybe it will come true.. I'm not going to beat this dead horse anymore.
