Got mine today. Is this a peel off coating on the face?

You need to peel it off, some use Fingernail, thumb, paper towel.Got mine today. Is this a peel off coating on the face?
@ThirtyOne has been helping many buy these same emblems but for Sting Gray, perhaps he can chime in?These emblems look awesome. Questions:
1. Obviously nickel finish, but what is the material of the whole emblem? Plastic? How will it hold up in the elements? Will it warp?
2. I saw the photos of the fishing line technique to take off the original Trail Rated emblem. How should I affix this emblem?Just use the sticky backing alone? Or should I use an additional adhesive? If so, what kind? Has anyone done this yet? What were the results? Does anyone have a photo of their JT with the Trail Rated emblem being replaced with this one?
3.) Where are Gator owners placing second emblem, for those who purchased two? The antenna is obviously occupying the same spot on the right side.
I'm just a little leery about shaving off the original Trail Rated emblem before being reassured that I could adhere this custom emblem in the same spot, and it won't deteriorate, warp, or fall off altogether.
Thanks.

Great feedback. Thank you! From the manufacturer's site:
Custom made emblems from Emblem Art are made from Automotive grade plastics. The custom emblems are weatherproof, fade proof and guaranteed to make your ride one of a kind!! And don’t worry, we don’t like holes in our cars either!!! Custom Chrome Emblems are backed with 3M automotive grade weatherproof adhesive. These emblems will stick to you automobile through any weather condition. We guarantee it!!!
I've had mine on for a year and a half through weather, off-roading, powerwashing, etc. It looks like new. The adhesive is plenty strong enough.
Most people put the emblems lower on the front panel near the Jeep emblem on each side. I put mine on the rear of my Jeep.
I decided not to replace the trail-rated badge because frankly the trail-rated badge looks better. But there is no reason why you couldn't.
Personal opinion - if I were you I wouldn't replace the trail-rated badge. If it's causing you this much anxiety I don't think you will be happy with the result.

i've got you on the list. There has been SLOW traction after the first big rush of interested buyers. I've got you on the list, but it could be a month or two before we do the 2nd order. Just an FYI.I'd like to have one for the left side of mine.
That's fine with me. I only ordered my JT last week and I guess I'm not to expect it to show up until January!i've got you on the list.
