  • Yes. Go with 5.13s, you will be fine with that gearing on 35s in the winter

  • No. Go down to 35s in the summer and stick with stock 4.10s

Hello everyone! I recently picked up a 2021 JTR 3.6 and have loved it so far. It was in mint condition and was only used for commuting. Came with the Mopar lift and a 37in BFG K02s. I will be using it as a daily driver and mild to moderate wheeling on the weekends with the family and live at an elevation of 2,000 feet. I will need to tow about 3,500lbs for 10 miles over flat ground every 1-2 weeks, 6,000lb maybe twice per year through hills over about 60 miles, and will likely haul a pop up (3,000lbs) 500-800mi twice per year on the highway. Because of this, I have planned to swap to 5.13 gears. However, I have found it necessary to use studded winter tires and the largest I can find that are trustworthy are the Nokian Hakkapelitta LT3s which measure 315/70R17 which is about a 35. Also, just to save time, I am convinced that I need studded tires because of high amounts of black ice having been through a number of winters here. With that in mind, please respond to the poll and/or post your thoughts.

The strange thing is that I routinely hit 8th gear with the current setup on the highway and got 17mpg on a recent highway trip through the mountains.
