Yes, dogs should be secured in the bed of the truck. Some folks will install a heavy duty clip under the beer window and tether their harnessed dog/s to that. Some folks have a metal rack in the bed and figure out how to secure them to that without the chance that the doggo will climb/fall out the sides. I have two big shepherds - and I just know that they'd get tangled if I tethered them. I don't want to put a rack on my Gladiator, so I purchased an ARE cap for the bed. I painted it to match the matte black fenders, added LED lighting and dog screen on the windows, a rear window to line up with the beer window... what else? Oh, and a Yakima rack for the top. I put a mat inside for them to lie on and everyone is safe and happy!What is proper doggo etiquette for dogs in the bed? Should they be leashed in somehow? I'm pretty sure my dog Jax would love a ride. He is a big goof though. (Golden retriever)

I have had a few miniature poodles( My Mother raised them) and they are Smart and Standards are said to be the smartest!This is one of My rescued standards. We have another one we rescued 13 years ago and he is still moving along.
