I was hoping some of you guys can kindly answer a question I have that I wanted answered for a while now.
When or if a water/ oil cooler (or heat exchanger) is replaced, how is the oil and coolant bled off to remove the air pockets in the cooler?
Noticing the way the cooler assembly sits on top of the inlet and outlet for both water and oil, which enters and leaves from the bottom of the cooler assembly. This provides nowhere to bleed off the trapped air in the oil or coolant.
If the full capacity of either oil or coolant and not filled, the assembly due to trapped air pockets, the cooling effect of the cooler assembly would be greatly diminished.

The systems pressurize quite well. Especially the oil, that sucker will get up to 70 plus psi. Also the filter is on top of the housing and it has air in it technically everytime you replace it and nobody has issues with that. It'll burp itself out with a little driving. these systems are a bit more self bleeding vs the olden days where you could end up with a fist size bubble in the elbow of your lower hose.
