Does anybody else’s engine ever stutter while starting? 2023 3.6L rubicon. It has happened to me about 5 times over the last 4 months, only 7k miles on it since I got it brand new and I don’t understand why. It wasn’t less than 34 degrees F or so at night so def wasn’t too cold.

right before I started the camera it stuttered and never actually turned all the way on just stuttered and died, then I started the camera and it stuttered and started. I’ll attach a link to a YouTube video since my video was too large to upload here. Thanks!!Jeep gladiator 3,6l stutter start

Oh and small side note, I had a JL 3.6L from 0-80k miles and this has never happened.

That could be lots of things, first guess is fuel pressure since it responds to throttle inputs kind of. Looking at your fuel level it's reading empty or close to it. Was it this low on fuel when you had the issue before?

Hey Joe,

just happened to have lower fuel at the time but that wasn’t the case before. And I am not touching the throttle or anything it’s just going from like 1500 -500 rpm on its own up and down a few times

If you're not touching the throttle then fuel pressure would do it. Checking the fuel pressure on cold startup may help to eliminate one source of where the issue is coming from. Is it doing this more and more often? Check your oil pressure on a cold start or starts and see if it drops or dips. I hate to say dealer since it's a dirty word to me but they do have the resources to hopefully find the problem.
