I have a Gladiator Diesel. When I went to drive it last month the glow plug warning light came on. S I drove it to the dealer who said that they would look at it. When the dealer got back to me they said that I would need to replace the glow plugs and they recommended that I also replace the glow plug control module. When I asked about how long this would take they said that they would have to order the parts. The next day I called to see if the parts had been ordered and if so when were they expected. I was told that the items had been order would arrive on the following Monday since they were using "expidited shipping". After, Monday came and went, I called again and was told that no one in the country had the parts and that they did not know when they would be able to get them. When I explained that I was towing my Airstream and was on my way to Tennessee and that I had parked my Airstram in a in storage facility while my Gladiator was in the shop they made clear that it was not their problem. Currently the dealer has had my Gladiator and my Airstream has been in storage for almost a month.
What should I do, and how do I prevent ending up in a similar situation on the side of the road in Alaska, or in the desert or some other remote place.
I have owned only jeeps for at least the last 30 years because I felt that they were reliable and regardless of the condition would always go.
I am now concerned and would like to know the best coarse of action to resolve the problem, get my jeep back and on the road to Tennessee. Also what tow vehicle I should be looking at since I travel / boondock as much as possible and now know that the Jeep is not as reliable as I previously thought
