Hi All, my service stop/start warning light (an A! with a circle without a bottom around the A) came on as I started up my Mojave today (2022 model). Have any of you had experience with this warning light? Is it the kind that (might) reset itself after some time/miles? Any experience as to what can cause this light to come on?...I never use stop stop and always disable it when I start the truck so I would hate to have to bring this to the dealer just for this issue.

Thanks in Advance!

That's the warning light that the Aux Battery has failed the startup test. Usually, that means it is time to replace both batteries.

The batteries are paralleled together all the time, except during the startup test and when ESS restarts the engine.

The average life expectancy is three years for the batteries. If you are within the 3/36 warranty period, the dealer should take care of it, if you want to try that route.

Oh, and read up on replacing the batteries the correct way or you will be asking more questions like give me "what is a fuse array" for $300 Alex or "what is Jeep won't start" for $500 Alex.

Thanks Everyone for your comments. I'm surprised that the batteries tend to fail after only 3 years, but I shouldn't be I guess with all the extra stuff they put in vehicles theses days...I'm going to give it a week to self extinguish, and if it doesn't take it into the dealer.

It’s not necessarily a battery, it’s just that that’s common. Don’t discount the other potential causes, like a bad hood switch.

The worst thing you can do is assume, always do proper troubleshooting.
This is the right answer!!!! Could end up replacing parts you don't need. Proper troubleshooting is the key to fixing issues and saving money. It may or may not be the battery, it could be a bad connection, or something else. But..... proper troubleshooting will figure it out.

5 plus years on my originals, but I tend to them more than other vehicles.

If he would start with charging both batteries and resetting the IBS, it wouldn't hurt anything. If the issue goes away, great. I it continues, he can do further testing with a VOM.

But you are right, proper troubleshooting could save time and money. Start with free and easy.
