While it's not overlanding, this path to get to the trails sure has proven to be fantastic.

Yep, RV is rated at 21k towing, 3" receiver, run a 20' tilt aluminum flatbed for whatever toy we're bring along with us. Flatbed was in trailer parking, wouldn't fit in the spot, we're 65' total length during travel. That was us with a couple buddies last year in Moab.

Subject: Chinese Diesel Heater

First of all having a diesel heater in the camper is a game changer. Since my truck is too tall for the garage, sadly it stays outside for the winter. Being able to heat it up with the remote control from inside my house or while inside the camper on the top bed is awesome. The little 5L diesel tank lasts for weeks of truck warmups, or 2-3 days of camping (not used continuously).

First problem in a year. Looks like the diesel tank cap is crap and leaks when truck is bouncing the diesel around. I called the manufacturer and they're reimbursing me for a new cap. Let's see if this works, as I'm getting tired of smelling diesel in my truck.

Pecron is getting better, and heats up the battery so it can charge at low temps, but you still can't draw power at low temps. If it's cold soaked, you still have to warm it up with the truck's heater before using.

My wife and I went on a trip to a 4x4 park for my Birthday, Feb is always cold so I bought an electric blanket and we stayed at a tent site with elec outlet, worked out great. I'm looking for the best way to power the blanket without having to camp near an outlet. I've been looking at the power stations. I have an inverter onboard that can charge it up while we ride, I didn't realize they don't like cold weather until I read your post above. What are your thoughts?

I have a Pecron 600LPF that works fine as long as it's left in the cab of the truck. I charge it from the 400watt stock Gladiator inverter while I'm driving. As long as I drive an hour or two, the Pecron will be charged when I camp at night. I think it would work fine as long as the Pecron doesn't get below 32 degrees F. I'm not sure if other power supplies work below freezing.

I am torn between a power station and a Honda EU1000. I have 15 lb propane bottle onboard we use for Blackstone grill so I would convert Honda to propane. Generator would only be used when temp gets in 30’s. Getting to camp in cooler weather would be great. No sweat and no bugs. I just like quiet and don’t know if I want to hear a genny.

I started with a generator, but never used it. Plenty of power, but overkill for my needs. It's quiet for a generator, but kills the camping mood.

I definitely recommend a $400 Pecron 1000. It's more than enough to handle a heated blanket, any electric cooking appliances (even a microwave).

If you do a lot of below 0 degrees C camping, then I would get a $150 Chinese Diesel heater. It will heat up the Jeep in 10 minutes and keep it toasty warm for a couple days with it's little tank.

I can't think of a situation where I would PLAN on camping below 0 degrees, I will go with your recommendation, Thank you Mules.
I love your rig by the way.
