Hey guys i am new to the forum.long time jeep owner. Yjs tjs and jks. Im looking to downsize my truck. I just started looking into gladiators in hopes of purchasing in February or march. Im in the northeast and do residential snow removal for friends and family. I am wondering is there a certain trim or option i should be shopping for that will be able to handle the plow. On my ram i have the snow chief group. Any help or input is appreciated.

Rubicon or max tow package on a Sport or Sport S so you have the 4.10 gears, Rubicon has lockers max tow has Trac Lok rear differential. That said I would get a 2 door JL for plowing residential, the long wheelbase of the JT does not help with plowing. Guy near me plows driveways he has two 2 door JKs and I 2 door JL with 6’ plows he said they are great as they are so maneuverable.

Ok thanks for the info. I wouldnt mind having another 2 door jeep but id really prefer to have the bed on the gladiator.

After having a plowing business, years ago, I would not rely on a gladiator for a commercial plow setup. This kind of work is far more conducive to a truck with a very robust front end, like a 3/4 ton. As you probably have found out, plow trucks get the crap beat out of them, especially the front ends, transmissions and transfer cases. Carrying the extra weight all winter long, plowing or not, is brutal on front suspension components as well. I know its not what you want to hear. I hope it all works out for you, and this is just my opinion.

I also plowed commercial for the last 13 years. Ive gone through 3 different trucks and way too many parts. Im finally getting out of it after this season. Im currently running a ram 3500 but without doing snow removal/ landscaping i really have no use for the truck anymore. As i mentioned im not using it for commercial. I want to continue to do a few residential driveways for relatives and couple friends that live naerby. Im sure the jt can handle a plow im just looking for more direction as to what trim options would help adding a plow.

Max tow or Rubicon would be the best for plowing IMO
Thanks. I will look for the max tow option. I was hoping not to spend as much as a rubicon but i definitely wouldnt mind owning one.

In that case go with a Sport trim with Max Tow. That will be the lowest cost of entry.

The Auxiliary switch option is a must have IMO too.
