Hi everybody!
I just signed up. After having a 2012 tan JK for 10 years and giving up on keep ever making another one in that color, I found and had to have a 2020 Gobi Gladiator. This will be my third Jeep purchased.

I have questions though. A LOT has changed since I bought my last jeep in fall 2011. Now the doors feel more like car doors hinges. I think I can take those off, but wondering if people are just getting used to those.

Second question: My new Glady won’t go into gear with the door open. Is there a way to turn that off? I live on a farm, haul things around, etc. It’s incredibly annoying.

I love the pickup bed though!

Thoughts appreciated.

1st question. I don't understand your question. Yes, you can still take the doors off just like your JK. Was that what you were asking?

2nd question. No

Sorry Kevin. I should have been more clear on my first question. On my old JK, my doors swung freely, just with a strap to prevent them from swinging too far. On my new JT, there’s a tensioner or something like that under the strap, which makes it feel like a traditional car door, which I don’t care for, yet. For instance, it’s got some little rollers that help the door stop at two predetermined positions. This feels foreign to me, since my other two jeeps I’ve driven for so long didn’t have anything like that. It looks fairly easy to disassemble and remove. I was just wondering if anyone else had that experience or if everyone just has gotten accustomed to having doors that act more like normal car doors and not like the previous versions of jeeps.

You can definitely undo that stopper and let it go into the door. I do that in the spring and reattach it in the fall once the doors won't come off for the season.

And for number 2, if you have manual windows, you can disconnect the electronic connector for the door. Then the truck doesn't know if a door is closed/open and won't go into auto park mode. If you do have power windows then you might be out of luck.
