If you have an iPhone, it needs to be unplugged. And also not connected to Bluetooth.

If an iPhone is plugged in or connected to Bluetooth, it will show whatever the Jeep speedo is showing.
Mine doesn’t but it is just a sport it is usually really close

First post. Early Boomer, bona fide geezer status, with a 2023 Gladiator Freedom and a few questions for you enthusiasts. Have had 4WDs before but the Gladiator is a first.

The truck came with 35X11.5R17 AT tires and a 2 or 2.5” lift kit the dealer installed. The original tires are gone and the original wheels were used for the new tires. Axle ratio is 4.10, trans 8 speed auto. Mileage on first tank of gas was 15.4.

So:

Do I need a wheel alignment?

And is my speedometer reading going to be off & by how much?

Last but not least, do the headlights need to be reaimed/adjusted?

I bought it on a whim when my Ram 3500 Cummins 4WD was down for a water pump. I’d rather it was stock but so far I’m liking it. Hope the chicks dig it.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

That is assuming the Jeep was set for original tire height. My 2020 bought brandy new has a more accurate speedo with the 315's than it did with the original 285's. That is according to Pa State Police radar units.

Fuel mileage is directly linked to speeds over 65 mph. The more you push it, the more it drops. 2020 Rubicon, 76k miles, 315/70R17 Nitto Trail Grappler M/Ts average 19 mpg daily commute is 60 miles half interstate half back roads on 91 octane, 18 mpg on 87 octane. Slightly bigger difference when towing, 10 mpg/87 octane vs. 11.5 mpg/91 octane.

Congrats and have fun with your new truck!

Thank you all. The electronics are a couple of generations over my head so I’m going into to a learning curve.

I’m taking my near new 265/70/R17s E tires off my Ram 3500 and putting them on the Jeep. The Jeep 35s will go on the truck making both better for my purposes. Both get wheel alignments and I’ll deal with the lift kit. Research shows - so far - this is all good. Using the app that was so kindly sent tells me my speedometer will be dead on. I suspect my headlights will be fine when the lift kit is removed.

And the truck? I’m lovin’ it.

Alignment: This is usually done when the lift is installed, if the vehicle is tracking correctly and the tire wear is even there shouldn't be a need for it.

Speedometer: It might be off, it might not, it depends if the dealer also told the computer it has larger tires. A TazerMini gives you the ability to correct your speedometer, gear ratios, and do a lot of other cool stuff. It also blanks out the rear license plate lights in reverse so they don't blind the reverse camera, and gives your Auto Start-Stop a memory feature so it recalls it's last setting (so you don't have to turn it off every time you get in).

Headlights: Raising the entire vehicle 2" should have almost no impact on the headlight aiming. This would be a problem:

A 2" lift probably wouldn't even be noticed in the headlight beam pattern.

Update:

Took the Jeep in for alignment and got a tweak. Steering and ride are very smooth.

Tried to have my 35” Glad tires put on my ‘05 Dodge 3500 and the shop refused saying they would rub. Internet homework gave a different opinion. Dodge is 4 door, 4 WD, stock. Jury still out.

Looks like over ground speed is 10% higher than speedometer indicated in Gladiator.

Good thing I bought the Jeep. Turns out the Dodge needs a brake line and front end work.

Thanks for all the help, guys. I appreciate it.
