Sooooo…. I have a sport s 2020 3.6. I’m slowly piecing it together. I’ve done rubicon fenders. Tires, soft topper, leds. My goal now is sliders, lift, wheels, tires, gears and lockers.
my main concern now is reliability. After reading many many topics on electrical issues and engine failures and fires etc etc. I know thingsare bound to happen with vehicles and that people with good luck don’t come here to post about there good luck.
but dang!! There seems to be a lot of bad luck here. Is it just me? Should I worry about sticking a good amount of money into something like this?
I like this truck so much and want it to last a long time. I maintain it very well. But this stuff happening doesn’t seem to be because of lack of maintenance.

Like I said I know there’s always a chance. I would just hate to loose 10 grand in aftermarket and loose my truck or have the warranty voided because it’s not going to hold up.

what are your guy’s opinion on this? Am I worrying for nothing? Thanks!!

Unless the truck burns down, everything else is fixable.

True! Just seems like some are going through a lot of hassle in and out of shops. Like I said I could be overthinking it. I should probably focus on the more positive end of this forum haha ?

Look at how many members are on this forum that have problems. Now look at how many forum members there are. Next, compare the previous numbers to actual units sold… Math it all up and see how minuscule your chances of issues are…

It might seem significant on a forum, but reality is this is just a magnifying glass.

same thing for good news with the Gladiator… you’d probably look at this forum and think 90% of all sold are lifted and modified…

Just make sure you keep up all basic maint esp fluids plus any TSBs and Mopar updates keep them current. I do this with all cars owned, no major problems, some common within the model just take care of them. Worse thing is neglect.

Given the problems I've dealt with in the first 4000 miles I can't see this thing making it to 190,000 with oil changes and tires the way my Tacoma did.
So do you regret buying it? Would you do something different? It sucks because I love everything about the gladiator.

If I could get this body and interior on a Tacoma I'd switch for a net loss of $5,000.

I'm trying to be patient and give a good soak but it's not feeling much better for the long term.

If 100k miles is a good enough goal I think it's doable. Extended Mopar Warranty can also give you piece of mind.

Going on two years and not one issue. Love this truck and I also want it for the long haul. I do all my maintenance and upkeep so I know what's been done and how.
Also have a JL with zero issues as well 20,000 miles in just 7 months.

Just enjoy it and if anything does happen just deal with it then.

Only issue so far is the axle leak which was repaired about 9000 miles ago and thus far, hasn't come back. 21000 miles, so time will tell. But this is our 3rd jeep (4th if you count the compass). The compass needed an engine at like 35000 miles ,under warranty. The TJ was absolutely problem free for 200,000 plus miles. The JKU is so far so good, at 87000, and I think we'll keep it long term.
I do get an occasional rattle in the dash that I can't figure out. It's been doing it for like 19000 miles of my 21000. I'm not worried about it at this point because I don't think it's engine related, but l if it is, I have plenty of powertrain warranty and I've already brought it up to the dealership.

I'm mostly stock. 35's, 1.5" level in front, .75" level in back. Once I hit 36000 and bumper to bumper runs out, I'll make some more changes, but I'm not touching the engine or transmission until powertrain is up at 60,000.

Lol. I can only imagine how many folks only started looking at something else because of how shitty the Tacoma interior is. Comfort wise, it’s absolutely laughable. I started on a Toyota lot (looked at a Tacoma and 4Runner) and didn’t bother taking either of them off the lot.

My JTR might be a clapped-out piece of shit by 100k miles, but I’ll at least get there in comfort. ?
