Sooooo…. I have a sport s 2020 3.6. I’m slowly piecing it together. I’ve done rubicon fenders. Tires, soft topper, leds. My goal now is sliders, lift, wheels, tires, gears and lockers.
my main concern now is reliability. After reading many many topics on electrical issues and engine failures and fires etc etc. I know thingsare bound to happen with vehicles and that people with good luck don’t come here to post about there good luck.
but dang!! There seems to be a lot of bad luck here. Is it just me? Should I worry about sticking a good amount of money into something like this?
I like this truck so much and want it to last a long time. I maintain it very well. But this stuff happening doesn’t seem to be because of lack of maintenance.

Like I said I know there’s always a chance. I would just hate to loose 10 grand in aftermarket and loose my truck or have the warranty voided because it’s not going to hold up.

what are your guy’s opinion on this? Am I worrying for nothing? Thanks!!
Well, I placed an order for my Gladiator the first day they opened up ordering after they were done with the Launch Edition orders, and received my Gladiator on June 17th, 2019. On June 18th, 2019, I left on a five month, 25,000 mile road trip that took me from Houston, Texas, up to Missouri, then across to Colorado, over to Nevada then up through Utah and Wyoming, to Montana, and from Montana up through Canada to Alaska. I spent a month in Alaska to include driving up the haul road to Prudhoe Bay / Deadhorse ? Arctic Ocean, then down and around through Anchorage to Seward, then back up and around to head back through Canada and back to Washington state. I hit Yellowstone on the way up, and on the way back, and then did Moab for a week, etc. Back down to Las Vegas and all the way back home to Texas.

Since then I've added a few miles and I'm at 68,000 miles as we speak, and absolutely zero issues so far. None. Not one. I added a bug deflector in Fairbanks, Alaska as the bugs were horrendous (and it actually helped, lol), and got oil changes every five thousand miles whether I needed them or not. Had it checked at a dealership each time I did the oil changes and tire rotations, and stayed up on the basic maintenance. Just got new tires (35" Toyo Open Country all terrains) and I put a smartcap on the back when they first came out for the Gladiator. Winch bumper and winch, 3" lift, Rock Slide Engineering side steps and some minor stuff that makes no difference, I just like them.

I've had eight Jeep vehicles in a row, XJ's, TJ's, JK's and now a JT. I absolutely love this vehicle, it's the best of the lot.

Now, of course, I have to knock on wood.........LOL.

I've had mine since around 27 Jan. 2020 had Steering gearbox replaced under warranty after a year and noticed a slight wandering on straight road. Otherwise I'm at 62000 miles, if I unload it of all the gear in and on it I get over 22mpg "Max-Tow" just regular service, tires, add ons plus mods.

So there is a small percentage that have or having problems but most aren't.... other than paying fuel bills.... ?

;)

Don’t forget that when you come into the forums (any car) you find much discussion about problems here. More squeaks I guess when things aren’t right and I bet most quiet members are likely problem free. lol- asking that in a forum is like going to the dentist and asking if anyone has cavities??? Perhaps I am wrong lol just my 2 Pennie’s. I get ya tho.

I understand your concern because there are bad builds with any manufacturer. After 20k miles and truck like use I’ve been fortunate. My ole school mentality is not to worry about it and be thankful it’s not a $40k vehicle with 125,000 miles on some lot in todays used market. If something breaks I fix it or call some buddies to help. Serve up some coney dogs and beer, best warranty I ever had.

I can't speak for every Gladiator owner, next month on the 17th will be two years. I have 45,000 trouble free miles. I wish you the best of luck with the new truck.
