I'm in the process of replacing the large sound bar speakers in my Gladiator. As many of you know, the current jeep uses a three point mount speaker mount and many aftermarket speakers use a four point mount. Does anyone have any experience using a speaker mount adapter that will allow me to replace the factory sound bar speakers with Kicker speakers or do many of you just drill new holes into the sound bar to accommodate the aftermarket speakers?

There is a 3-way ring adapter. Break off the 4-way tabs and use the 3-way ring instead. Position the speaker so that the leads fit into the space left for them. The speaker fits tightly, and the 3-way ring works fine to hold it in. Stuff some poly fill behind the speakers.

I can tell you from experience with the basic JL 5.0 radio, removing the 3.5“ and 4.0” speakers in the Soundbar and replacing them with one 6.5” per side gives you a lot fuller sound.

So ur verifying the 4" ks speaker fits in sound bar? How bout the 3.5"? Is it worth it without adding amp? Would it be better to just do 6.5" coax/component or 6x9 3 way?

Kicker 47KSC404 fits in the sound bar, but I don't know if it fits in the lower front dash. For the sound bar it's a very tight fit but it works well. There is no foam ring but the speaker is jammed in tightly so the foam ring doesn't seem to be needed. Replacing the 3.5 in the front dash is definitely worth it for better highs, and probably also in the sound bar, but the 4" I think was not worth it. 6.5" with an adapter would probably give you better lows, but at least for my factory Alpine system the sound bar is only fill and the main sound is up front. If you use 6.5" in the overhead then you may have to set the fader to bias them more. Maybe worth it if the overhead bass is too muddy for your liking.

Honestly, just the two upper dash 3.5" speaker made the biggest difference. And add the poly fill behind those and the overheads.
