One wonders how much aerodynamics actually play into it since it's all done on a dyno anyway, now that I think of it - maybe my "aerodynamics" argument is moot.
I kinda hafta wonder if aerodynamics truly play a role here. My Bride's 2019 Grand Cherokee Ltd. also has the exact same motor/trans (gearing unknown by me) and gets one mile to the gallon more than my JTO. The Grand's just a little slipperier in the air than the JT ;););)

Interestingly, BOTH were built 6/19. I got the Grand two weeks before my JTO came in.

In the real world, it matters - on a dyno, not so much.
My wife routinely got 25-26 with her 2021 Grand Cherokee Limited.
I was getting a whopping 21-22 with my 2020 JT. Even when she drove the JT it wouldn't do better - proving it wasn't the driver.
Yes, aerodynamics do play a role even at lower speeds. You don't have to drive 50 to experience it - it's just that because the effect of that "wind resistance" is exponential that when you exceed a certain point you see the change as a kick in the face, extremely obvious, vs. doubling the impact of wind resistance at 10 mph.

But going back - exactly what is being compared? To say "I'm comparing a Gladiator with a 3.6 t a Ram truck with a 3.6 is leaving the door wide open for - "but what about" - gearing, transmission programming, vehicle purpose, target market, ground effects, fender shape, wheel opening size, I could list dozens of factors that absolutely come into play at almost any speed.
You just can't do it and I am amused and amazed (well, maybe knowing people, not amazed so much) that anyone even tries then gets pissed if they don't come out as they expect.

but just having a hard time going backward on the fuel mileage, ride and comfort, room inside cab, etc.
This is also what happened in my case. Traded my 2020 Ram DT Laramie for my JTM. It didn't take long to realize that I missed all of the things you mentioned.

With that said, the Mojave was still fun while it lasted! ;)
