Doubt it will have any kind of increased value in the long run, or enough that it would warrant more that a 1-2% increase. Some people will drive longer or jump quicker on the special editions and such. Won't make you more on a trade it, but might score yourself extra on a private party sale. Execept in a few rare cases most people will be lucky to make back the extra $200 they paid for the color though. lol

Stoked to have got my Gator overland in mid may!!! You really have to see this color in person to appreciate it.

So true. Everybody I see comments on the color. Except for one friend who says it should not be as shiny. Don't disagree with him, but still love the color anyways.

People said the same about the Rescue Green in 2007/2008 JK and the tan color that was around in the 2012 JK I think. I don't think that Gator will bring any more money over time than any other color.
I agree. I think a lot of people understand that colors come and go in the Jeep palette. I don't think Punk'n owners are thinking they're sitting on bags of cash either.

Same for mine. The color is the number one compliment. I have the color matched top. Really was not sold on that when I bought it, but it grew on me alot, I think it helps it look lighter in the sun, turns almost grey in the shade.

I'm confused, they said "they could choose gator?"

My understanding is the dealership and the website still have Gator as an option, but you are unable to order it. Jeep stopped allowing the orders for Gator to go through, making people choose a different color.

Then why did they tell him (the OP) that they could choose it?

Not sure, but from the chatter on this thread there have been people who tried to order it only to have Jeep call back to decline the order. That's why I said it was my understanding. I'm getting my information from people who are posting. But hey, if they let him order it then that's good news for a lot of people who wanted Gator but were told they couldn't have it. I truly hope it works out for him, and think it sucks Jeep puts a color out and then all of a sudden they discontinue the color. It makes it hard for those who have the color and want to touch up paint and the sorts.

That’s a typo or auto correct, I could not choose gator on that day.
Well that's a different story altogether. FYI, you can go back and edit your original post.

Done.

I was very upset at the news. It’s my fault for waiting but I was waiting for the popular equipment package to be available to order on the manual transmission overland, which would save about $2200 below already good discounts in my area. It’s on the website, in the ordering system, and on the ordering sheet, So by all accounts it should have been available. Even though it was in the ordering system, it was grayed out so the dealer could not select it. I tried prior to the plant shutting down, and the dealer(s) said try again when the plant opens back up. We tried to order the week they opened up and the dealer said give it a few more weeks, they couldn’t understand why it wasn’t available. In retrospect, I should not waited but it’s very frustrating that the dealers are not given any information from FCA. I’ve pretty much known more than the dealers that I’ve talk to the entire time because of the forums. Also, Jeepcares and Jeep customer service wouldn’t say anything about the availability of package, I did reach out to both. Shouldn’t have waited, but the dealers all said it’s in the system and should be available soon. Two grand seemed like something worth waiting a month or two for and I assumed that I would be able to order gator through the end of 2020 ordering. Jokes on me now but we’ll see what the 2021 colors are. Joke will be on FCA if I end up buying a used gator lol.
