Actually, I lost my right eardrum when a 105mm went off nearby (No hearing protection). Then there are thousands of hours hanging below beating rotor blades or sitting in front of whining turbine engines. Not hearing well is not so bad. I can pretend not to hear things sometimes, and pretend not to hear when some moron is saying something they think I cannot hear ;-)
