I have no idea what the grill blanket thingy is actually called, but just curious if I should be using one on my 2022 ecoDiesel? I live in northern BC and we just had a full week at -30 C

What are your oil temps at? Is it garage kept? Does it take a long time to heat up?

General consensus is that oil temp should be 185+ F. My engine oil temp is normally around 210F. If you can't get your engine above 185F you're probably a prime candidate for a grill cover. It will also help the truck warm up faster if it's been left in the cold without the block heater plugged in causing less wear. That said, Jeep designed it to heat up really quick for emissions reasons. It's the transmission that really takes a long time to get to temp.

as I sit here in my shorts and t-shirt reading and wondering why anyone really wants to deal with kind of weather? I'll take hurricanes, traffic, tourist, love bugs and even the occasional florida man, thank you.

use to love the cold as a kid but the older I've gotten, I think in some ways I might be a little wiser.

See, I'm the exact opposite. I'll take cold and snow over heat and dripping humidity, hurricanes, dinosaurs, ,snakes, lizards, and cockroaches the size of baseballs every single day. Besides, if I'm cold I can always put on another layer. If I'm hot, there is only so much I can take off before women and children are traumatized and the police get involved.

Winters in snow country are not bad at all, except we still have the same idiot drunken tourists you do. They just come here to ski, snowboard, and snowmobile instead of golf and sunbath.

It's also a good excuse to buy a Jeep. "Honey, I need a Jeep for when it snows!" (of course she says the same thing.)
