Thank y'all for the info. We're frozen in this weekend with lows in the little below zero vicinity so I'll spend some time drinking hot coffee and mulling over my options. @msiminoff I appreciate your insight and think I will NOT watch those videos you warned me about ;)

I also run a Yaesu FT7900 in my motorhome and a Kenwood TMV-71A in my JK. I have CB's in the JK and Motorhome but they really don't get used much anymore.

I bought the 7900 before I knew a lot on mobile dual band rigs. The Kenwood was purchased to right the wrongs of the FT7900. Don't get me wrong, the FT7900 is a good radio and was easy to MARS mod but it's not a dual receive radio where the Kenwood is. Now that I'm in an area with System Fusion repeaters, the System Fusion capable Yaesu's made more sense for the JT.
