I'm adding two sets of the 4-LED Road Shock lights to my Gladiator. Two will be the all spot light version and they will be on the cowling by the windshield. The other two will be the version with the dispersed low beams and spot high beams.

I'm curious what anyone else here with these lights have done, in terms of wiring and switching.

Option 1: Connect them to the Aux switches. 1 and 2 would be for high beams for each pair (cowling pair and bumper pair). Buttons 2 and 3 would be for the low beams for each pair. I would then just connect the back lights to an ignition based power source so they are on anytime the Jeep is running.

Option 2: Use the HF wiring harness and switch for each pair and put the switches just under the lighting controls on the lower dash panel.

Looking at the HF harness and switches, it seems the back lighting might be on when the switch is in the off position, but I can't tell. It looks like the switch has low beam, neutral (off) and high beam. I don't see where it would have a setting for the back lights or all-off modes. But that might clear up if I purchase one and get to inspect it closely.

Thanks!

Little off topic but I love the color of your Jeep in your picture. My 3 year old always yells "Blue Jeep" when we run errands so I think it's his favorite too haha

I love most colors on these things, but that Hydro Blue really pops. My first Jeep was a 93 in Hydro Blue, so I was excited to find this one! My kids are the same way about it!

I added these last a couple weeks ago as cowl lights on my Mojave. I had already installed a VOS Switch on the A-pillar last year and had two extra “Aux” buttons so I wired the lights to one of them. Personally, I like having them on an Aux switch panel as opposed to a stand alone ON/Off switch. Plus, it saved me from needing to buy the HF wiring harness too.

How did you do the back lighting? Did you make it so that it is on all the time, or do a 3rd switch? How did you do the high low? 2 switches? I'm thinking maybe with the cowl lights, it should be just on or off. I don't need low beam on those. Only the bumper with the split spot/fog will need that, I am thinking.

I apologize if I jumped in too quick. I just looked it up and realize there are a LOT of different roadshock lights there. I bought the 3” LED single function flood light.
With that said, my cowl lights are only on/off with that A-Pillar control. My RC bumpers also have (single function) 3” LED cube lights for front fogs and a set for reverse lights. I wired the reverse lights to be on a different on/off button on the A-Pillar control since they are blinding in parking lots. As far as the front fogs, I wired them to the factory wiring harness to operate like stock ones.
Hope that helps.

I did 2 of the 6 inch lights on my bumper. I cut the wiring harness I bought from harbor frieght and just tied into the factory aux panel. Aux 1 does high beam aux 2 does low and aux 4 does back lighting. I just keep that on at all times

I have the 4led on the cowl and the 6led on the bumper. I made my own wiring harnesses and wired them into my Voswitch 8 switch panel. I wired up the 6 led lights to switch 1 lows, switch 2 highs, switch 3 is back lights for both sets of lights. The 4 leds are on switch 4 for spots and switch 5 for floods. The first picture is jut the back lights, I like running the amber covers.

I agree. That blue really looks good on it. I've always had dark green ones but I really want to get a blue one like this one day.
